"Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people, and he will appear a second time not to bear sin but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him."

Hi I'm Al Hoffman, current pastor at Trinity E.C. Church. I'm an industrial engineer by training and a pastor by God's calling. We moved to Terre Hill in July 2002 in answer to that call. The 'we' is my wife of 31 years Patsy and our granddaughter Lexi. I became a Christian in 1978 after being invited to a bible study in a home. There I found out what God's Word said about salvation, that I needed to 'receive' Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. I've been serving ever since. This past July through a job layoff, I was presented with the opportunity here in Terre Hill to obey Gods calling on a full-time basis. Praise God. As printed on our home page, we are a community of believers who have a heart for our community. If you currently do not have a church we would covet your visit with us on a Sunday morning or Wednesday evening. My number is (717) 445-9756 if you have any questions.

Hi My name is John Altpeter, As pastor at Trinity E.C. Church I am enjoying a continuation of a fourth career, and in my view, the most important and rewarding one. However God has permitted me to enjoy some very interesting and challenging careers prior to entering the ministry, So that you may know me better I would like to share the past with you.
After graduating from high school in 1939 (yes I'm 81), it was hard to get a job, so I became a short order cook for a while. In 1940 I began a brief career in a factory making glass thermometers. Actually it was as a tradesman blowing glass, the bulbs on the end of thermometers. Most of these thermometers were going into the military, as war clouds were gathering over the USA.
May 1940 my military and second career began. It would last almost twelve tears spanning W.W.II and the Korean War. I was privileged to advance rapidly to the enlisted rank of Chief Pharmacist Mate. I was attached to the US Marine Corps, Third Marine Division at the Time. Battlefield exposure expedited my advancement since I was involved in the battles for Guam and Iwo Jima. After the war ended I stayed in the reserves attached to the Marine Reserve Company. It was at this time that I acquired a collage education through the GI Bill. I stayed in the reserves and in June 1950 was called to active duty because of the Korean "police action" . In Korea I was with the First Marine Division near Panmunjon, where the truce ending the hostilities was made. A week after the truce I received a letter form my first wife requesting a divorce: that changed everything. Although raised in a Christian home, I had wandered far form God. I surrendered to the Lord an life changes were made.
In 1955 my enlistment was up and I left the US Navy to pursue a new career in the field of Quality Control in the optical industry. That career spanned 29 years with two companies: Bausch and Lomb, and Pennsylvania Optical Co. I won't go into further detail, but I want to add this about Quality Control. In reality it is a search for truth such as the real answer when a process is not producing good product at a level that is profitable.
Searching for the truth in the spiritual realm is as well, and in 1974, while still in industry , I was licensed as a Local Pastor in the E.C. denomination. When called during the next ten tears, I did supply preaching in a number of E.C> Churches. However, I had always wanted to become a full time pastor, and when I retired from industry in 1984, the denomination approached me about taking a charge in Rexmont, PA. where I served for nine years. Now I find myself in Terre Hill, PA., still finding great fulfillment in the service of the Lord, and continuing my fourth career. I will not need another. This has been and is the best of them all.
I would be remiss if I failed to mention that if my second wife, Elsie, had not been with me and supported me during the latter two careers, I would not be where I am today. She has been a wonderful helpmate and pastor's wife as well as a good mother for our three children, who with their spouses have given us seven grandchildren.
